Getting ready the parent’s homes…
We began our photography for the couple at two different locations simultaneously. We had 3 teams of photographers to cover everything from getting ready to the party later at Penna’s in Sterling Heights. Our photography teams started at the parents’ homes early in the morning. We had two teams of photographers covering each location.
After spending a couple of hours with each group before everyone converged on the church of saints Mary and Joseph in Plymouth MI. It’s a part of St John’s Resort formerly known as The Inn at St John. We decided to put this wedding back up after the recent change in the name.
The service at St John’s Resort in Plymouth MI…
The service at Saints Mary and Joseph Chapel was spectacular. It is such a beautiful old church. It was formerly a monastery and Catholic retreat center but was eventually sold by the church. Some very nice renovations have been taking place at St John’s Resort and we are excited to feature this beautiful wedding.
Generally the mass is about an hour. After the service we took a few family shots while the guests gathered downstairs in the Atrium Ballroom for a beautiful luncheon. This preceded the official reception coming later that night at Penna’s in Sterling Heights.
We can’t wait for our next Penna’s wedding!

Off to Ss Mary and Joseph Chapel in Plymouth then Henry Ford Museum…
We made a stop at the Henry Ford Museum for some stunning shots around the campus. The couple had made arrangements ahead of time so there was no problem gaining access to their beautiful facilities. Had there been a wedding going on that particular day, there would have been problems shooting around the property but having made arrangements in advance made for a very smooth photo shoot there.
After the service we were going to head off to some other spots for our photography like Penna’s of Sterling Heights.
Pennas of Sterling Heights for the reception…
This was a spectacular setup for the wedding reception. Penna’s pulled out all the stops and Bellisario Flowers put the finishing touches on the decor. The room was set and everything was in order. The couple greeted their guests in the lobby as they arrived and cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were served.
Party was on and the beautiful room was set. They danced and played all night long to a fabulous band with great food and had great fun!
