Some thoughts on this Kings Court wedding…
Tiyashia & Elisha at Canterbury Castle reception in Lake Orion MI. A wonderful couple and wedding at Kings Court Castle in Lake Orion MI.
I remember getting the call for this couple and the excitement I felt having the opportunity to photograph their wedding.. He told me he was a pastor at a church and had some very deep thoughts about the institution of marriage. It was very meaningful to listen to him and learn from him.
The service in the Canterbury Chapel…
The wedding was going to be held at Canterbury Castle in their beautiful little chapel. We got there early to get some getting ready photos. It was a beautiful moment to see them reach around a partition to hold hands to say a prayer together. The service was soon underway and everybody watched with great interest and excitement. The service was conducted by one of his close friends and fellow pastors.
The Party in the grand ballroom…
After the service, we took a few shots around the grounds in Canterbury Village. The family joined us in the park for those photos. This Canterbury Castle reception was held upstairs. Guests were seated for the grand introduction. A thunderous applause erupted in the room as the new couple entered. They cut their cake and enjoyed some very touching toasts.
After dinner, the couple took to the dance floor for their first dance. It was such a beautiful scene and in so many ways. Getting a chance to dance with their mother and father very much moved all of us and what a beautiful evening. Later that night, we went outside for some moonlit shots. As we said our goodbyes I could tell by the tone in their voice that we would see each other again. It’s always such a deep feeling to wrap up a wedding like this. I headed back to the studio and got the cards loaded onto the server.
Post wedding and the image edits…
Our edit took about a week and a half when we released the images to the couple. It was one of the most moving phone calls I ever took when they called me to thank me for the work. I said to them that it was all about them, their radiant energy showed through and that’s what really made these shots so special. I wish them the very best life has to offer and hope they enjoy starting out their new family.
