A Baptism at St. Rafka Maronite Catholic Church in Livonia MI

I remember the day that we got the call for this beautiful event! The family was so kind and really liked our work, so it was a natural fit for them to hire us to capture little Sophia’s baptism. It took place at St. Rafka Maronite Catholic Church in Livonia. We arrived on location a little bit early and got some beautiful detail shots around the church and happened to be outside when the couple arrived. Candid photography is a key part of our work and those little moments are fun to capture.

The baptism ceremony in the Catholic church is an ancient rite. It’s performed for the small children and can make for some priceless moments. The closest family and of course the godparents gather in close for this sacred event. Afterwards we took a few family photos before heading off to the reception in Plymouth.

A party to celebrate at The Red Olive in Plymouth MI

The reception was held in a small room off to the side at the Red Olive in Plymouth, Michigan. I don’t know if they host a lot of events here but it certainly is a neat space and one that was perfect for this family gathering. Everyone was in high spirits and in a very festive mood. It was so much fun to be around a family with such great energy and enthusiasm for life. We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we did capturing them.
