Some thoughts on this wedding at the Dearborn Inn…
Sarah & Eric’s elegant spring wedding held at the beautiful Dearborn Inn in Dearborn MI. I am thinking about the first time I spoke with Eric on the phone regarding this wedding. He was the force behind booking us. He had some experience with photography and said he really appreciated our style. It sort of begs the question, ‘what is style?’. We have been asked many times what our style is and we typically take this approach when we think about that.
A discussion about style of photography…
We generally begin by discussing quality work. Then we address photojournalism versus posed photos and the ratio that surrounds what makes good coverage. Then talk about composition. Special Moments has a section in our web on a more expansive view of this topic. Take a look at this link to a page where we address what is a photographic style.
Overview of the day…
We started out at the Dearborn Inn for getting ready pictures and the first look before the service. This is a great way to cover pictures of the bride and groom before the service. It works particularly well when you’ve got the service and reception at the same location. We recently learned that the Dearborn Inn has closed for renovations for a couple of years. It’s sad to see an old hotel like this pass into a new era.
After the service, we went straight into the party for the first dance. Later in the night as the party was well underway, we took some gorgeous night shots in a a light drizzle. One of my favorites was the shot of them under the umbrella on the walkway behind the Dearborn Inn.
We can’t wait for our next wedding in Dearborn!
