A gathering for a patio wedding at Cafe Cortina.
This beautiful micro wedding was the first of three events that we photographed for this couple. It happened on a beautiful June day with a small group of their closest family and friends. This event was specifically designed to allow the couple to get married officially while postponing the larger party for a year out. It was a patio wedding that took place at Cafe Cortina in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
We started out with the arrival of the couple and their beautiful Alaskan Malamute & Black Labrador dogs. The stage was set and we were able to do a little bit of photography work before the service took place. There were about 16 guests in total at this event. The service was conducted by a close friend of the group.

After the patio wedding service, we took a few family and friend photos and then some of the couple. Hors d’oeuvres were served and the wine was poured. Cafe Cortina is known for their fantastic food. Chef Ernesto is a master of his craft! When dinner was ready everyone was invited to sit down and a couple of key toasts were offered to the couple and the guests.
Our role in any event is to capture the details and the emotions of the moment. We have chosen some key shots to demonstrate this process. We consider a good blog post one that excels at showcasing samples of the work we can produce at a wedding.
