A beautiful wedding at Orchard Lake Community Church…

Natasha and Daniel’s wedding was held at Orchard Lake Community Church in West Bloomfield. The reception was held at Sylvan Lake Community Center in Sylvan lake Michigan. Daniel’s Mom and Dad have been acquainted with our work for several years so it seemed only natural when their son was going to get married, we got the call. We started out at the beautiful Church on Orchard Lake with Natasha getting ready in the bride’s dressing room. It is a lovely little room and perfect for a smaller group. Daniel was downstairs in one of the social lounges with his guys.

We spent about 45 minutes moving back and forth between the two groups prior to the service. It gave us a chance to get some great shots with the couple and their families before the service started. When everyone was ready and the service time had arrived, everyone got lined up and the procession started. The service was held in the larger and new chapel at the church. This historic church has been on the lake for a very long time. It was founded in 1825. As the church grew they built onto the old structure and were careful to preserve the original chapel. It’s now used as a gathering space and social hall.

After the service was concluded, we took time to take a few family photos while the guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and beverages. The church has a perfect gathering space in the atrium overlooking the lake. The families put on a small luncheon for the attendance at the wedding. This luncheon was designed to allow guests to enjoy a nice meal together after the service. This is a tradition often observed in the Presbyterian Church as a way to celebrate and enjoy the couple’s new adventure together.
