Getting ready at home…
This was such a fun wedding for Michael and Georgina. We had a great time photographing their wedding. We started out at the bride’s home for some getting ready pictures. Her mom and dad were so excited to see this coming together and how beautiful their daughter looked. After spending some time with the bride and her family, we made our way over to the St Paul on the Lake Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Farms to meet up with the groom.
The service at St Paul’s on the Lake…
It was really neat to get two angles of the Bride coming down the aisle by having a photojournalist up in the church balcony. It is such a grand Church with a deep history. St Paul Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Farms is one of the more beautiful churches in the city. We love it here and really appreciate the unique architecture. After the service, we took some key family photos and we selected a few to be shown here. The park was next on our agenda.
Lower Baldwin Park on Quarton Lake Birmingham MI…
It was so much fun with this group. They were lively and had some great ideas. Everyone wanted to make this a great experience for the bride and groom. Some of the bridesmaids were kicking out fun ideas while everyone was laughing and having a great time. A couple of the guys had a party emergency and had to detour to some restaurant uptown. We laughed and had a good time with it and kept on shooting.
The Reserve of Birmingham…
It was really sad to see this venue close this past winter because it was such a beautiful spot. I hope someone will take the place over and keep it going. For us though it was a beautiful evening. The bride and groom came into the room to thunderous applause. They headed for the cake table as the champagne was poured. Some very heartfelt toasts were made by the best man and maid of honor. I think it even brought a couple of tears to some of the friends remembering some of the great times they had shared during their lives.
After a splendid dinner the couple took to the dance floor. One of the things that makes for a beautiful room is up-lighting. It was so well done in this room that night! I love the delicate purple hues in the background of some of these photos. It’s so neat to work in a space like this where they put so much thought and energy into making a beautiful room for a beautiful couple on a beautiful night. We went out to the parking structure for a few night shots before we wrapped up for the evening.
Special Moments Photography wishes our couple the very best life has to offer and we are so grateful to have the opportunity to photograph this splendid wedding.
We can’t wait for our next St. Paul on the Lake wedding!
