A micro wedding at Azalia United Methodist Church Azalia MI.
I have been thinking about Kara and Israel’s wedding a lot lately. It was such a beautiful and intimate ceremony at Azalia United Methodist Church in Azalia MI. I never been to this church and as I drove out through the beautiful fields between Milan and Dundee I was reminded of how much of this country is farmland.
We’ve done several weddings in this general area and I will link to one of my favorites below. Many of you might know that the rural areas of this country were first settled and churches built by the Methodists. This was a beautiful little church with classic roots. We started out with a few pictures of the Bride getting ready and the groom with his groomsmen before the service.

The service was about 15 minutes long but very painful. The minister knew the couple quite well which made for a very intimate service. After the service, we took a few family photos at the altar before heading out for a few night shots as the sun was going down.
We were technically not hired to cover the reception, I think they had about 20 people there but in the Micro Package they had booked, there was more time available to them and so we went down and took pictures of them cutting their cake before they started to mingle with their friends. I’m sure they had a very nice time and a lovely dinner prepared by the guests and the church parishioners. This is the way I understand many weddings used to take place but being in a metropolitan area like Detroit, it’s not as common for us to see. It was certainly a beautiful event and we enjoyed it very much!
