Kam & Jim’s wedding at St. John Episcopal Church Detroit & The Infinity Yacht at Jefferson Beach Marina St Clair Shore

Throw-back Thursday wedding at St John Episcopal Detroit & Infinity Yacht St. Clair Shores…

This is a throwback Thursday blog post for a wedding we shot for a famous newscaster Kam Carmen. We did a lot of weddings for the staff at WNIC in Detroit. It was a fun string of events and a lot of old friends turned up for this beautiful wedding. It took place at St John Episcopal Church in Detroit with the reception on the Infinity Yacht at Jefferson Beach Marina. I remember when Kam first called us and told us she was getting married and her excitement about the whole event. They had met a few months prior at Bill Bradley’s wedding.

The service at St John Episcopal Church in Detroit MI…

We started out at St John Episcopal Church for some getting ready photos before the wedding. The service was beautiful with smiles all through the room. After the service we took a few family photos before heading out into the city. We made our way through the city to some important landmarks they had in mind. The wedding reception was going to be held on the Infinity Yacht in St Clair Shores so the bride and groom made a grand entrance of it. They rode in on a water taxi they had taken from downtown Detroit up to St Clair Shores. The trip was very special in the fast little cabin cruiser. I love the shots where they pulled up to the Infinity with all the guests watching from the bow and windows of the Infinity Yacht.

The Water Taxi from Downtown Detroit to the Infinity Yacht…

The couple boarded the infinity to some fabulous reggae music and great festivities. A night aboard the infinity is such a lovely and romantic evening. The boat cruises along the shoreline down to the ambassador bridge. Then it makes a turn and heads back up with its Stern facing the sunset. The second level and the stern of the boat is where the dancing occurs. It is a lovely spot for a couple’s first dance and outdoor party.

On board the boat for a romantic night on the Detroit River…

The Yacht is one of our favorite spots. It is so unique to have a boat of this size able to accommodate close to 150 people for a romantic evening out on the water. On a side note, I remember several years back when there was a widespread power outage across the entire Midwest and Eastern seaboard. The infinity and ovation yachts were totally unaffected by the power outage. We were on board and of course, these large boats are self-powered. They can generate their own electricity which means in spite of the huge power outage on shore, the boats continue to cruise and host their scheduled events.

At the end of the evening when everyone disembarked, the couple stood by the exit ramp and thanked their guests for spending the evening with them. The last shot we took that night was a couple in their stretch limousine heading off to get a nice rest before flying out on their honeymoon the next morning.

Looking back on a great Infinity Yacht wedding on the water…

This retrospective on Kam and Jim’s wedding is a chance to look back at one of our favorite venues to host a unique and romantic wedding event. We wish the couple the very best and are looking forward to our next Infinity Yacht wedding.

We can’t wait for our next Infinity Yacht wedding!
