In the beginning…
What a fun and great day in my life shooting for Jodie & Thom! The service was held at Fort Street Presbyterian Church with the reception at the Brownstown Event Center this summer. They were such family people with a deep sense of what was really important in life. We started shooting with the couple at the church before the wedding as they got ready. The service was so well done and I always love shooting at this church!
Downtown Photos at DIA and Public Library…
After the wedding, we explored the city and found some key spots to shoot in like the Detroit Public Library for photos. This is such a great space to work in and so nice that they open it up to the public for photos. Remember that you have notified them in advance and agree not to disturb the readers. We also went out to the Belle Isle Park for some great looks around the area and then headed back toward downtown.
The Party at Brownstone Event Center…
The reception was held at a location we had not been to before and we loved how their reception turned out. The Brownstown Event Center is a beautiful spot to have your wedding. From what I could gather, you rent the space and supply your own catering. For those looking to rent the space, this is the number listed on their website for the Brownstown Recreation Department: (734) 675-0920. We tried to call them but kind of got the cold shoulder from the guy we spoke with. I have also heard it referred to the Brownstown Community Center.
The staff working the event did a great job and put on a wonderful wedding reception. The night shots were particularly nice at this wedding. We hope you enjoy the photos we took and as always, we would love to hear your feedback.
