In the beginning…
The Macedonian’s know how to throw a party, that’s for sure! After doing this couple’s themed engagement photos, I had high expectations for this wedding and was not let down by any means. Elena and Boris chose to have their traditional Macedonian ceremony at St. Mary’s Macedonian Orthodox Church, with the reception at the Macedonian Cultural Center. Both locations are in Sterling Heights MI. This couple proved that traditional certainly doesn’t have to mean boring! Loved hanging out with them for the day and taking some cool shots.
The Service & Downtown Detroit…
A Macedonian service is full of great traditions. Our service was very interesting full of great moments. We love Macedonian wedding very much. After the service we took our family shots. Family photos took about 30 minutes then we jump on the road. We headed downtown for some fun around the city. Everyone got over by the lake then over to the Fox Theater. The group made it to the DIA as well as some shots in the back allies. We spent about an hour or so around town and have picked a few highlights from the trip.
The reception…
Cocktails were served and the party the crowd was gathered. Special Moments Photography was hired for only an hour or so into the evening. It was our understanding that one of their friends was a photographer and they wanted him to cover the party. This is a little unorthodox but we went with it. Our focus was be with the through the getting ready, the service, downtown and the early part of the day and the first bit of the party. Elena & Boris dancing before dinner and the toasts. I am sure they went well into the night with the party!
Special Moments wishes them the very best in life and can’t wait to see them again soon at our next wedding they attend. Enjoy the photos!
We can’t wait for our next St Mary’s Macedonian Orthodox wedding!
