A fun wedding at Larsa Palace Banquet Facility…
This is a special post from a wedding we really liked and wanted to revisit! Larsa Palace Banquet Facility in Warren Michigan has changed names in the last few months and so we wanted to get a post up with the proper titling and feature one of our favorite weddings held at this facility.
This was an event where two of our photographers were hired, the main photographer and a photojournalist. We separated our efforts and went with the guys at the church and the ladies at the home. It’s really fun to see some of these images at their gorgeous home in Sterling Heights. Stephanie was smiling from ear to ear! David had a grin on his face like the cat that ate the canary. It was really fun to watch.
The service at St John Greek Orthodox Church…
After some getting ready pictures before the service, the bride and groom were ready to have their first look at the church. It was a beautiful moment before the ceremony. They shared a prayer together in private before they walked down the aisle.
The service was held at St John Greek Orthodox Church in Sterling Heights Michigan. It is a gorgeous old church with stunning Byzantine paintings. I remember having a job in Athens Greece a few years back and seeing some of the most stunning artwork I ever had the privilege of looking upon. I made a trip over to Istanbul a week ahead and had a look around there as well. It was reminiscent of this church and I enjoyed it so much.
A typical Greek Orthodox service takes about an hour and fifteen minutes. There are lots of beautiful traditions within the service at large. After the service we positioned ourselves for the couple coming outside for the bubble release. What a blast! Afterwards, we made our way back inside to take care of the family photos. I think we spent about 20 minutes getting those key shots for the couple.
Off to Larsa Palace Banquet Facility in Warren MI…
There was a bit of a time crunch between the wedding and the reception so we tried to get into a park that they loved, but unfortunately it was closed. Instead we headed straight for the reception. It’s hard to believe but those shots by the long brick wall and the planter were done literally by the parking lot outside of Larsa Palace Banquet Facility in Warren. We picked a low angle to photograph up in the air in order to avoid seeing cars in the parking lot. A little photographer’s trick.
The reception got underway with the grand entrance into the banquet room. It’s a lovely space and one that we enjoy very much. My understanding is that the grand staircase in the lobby is no longer there but we put this picture in anyway. It was before the remodel. Fun to look at and great memories to be had.
Later into the evening after the dancing was well underway, we made our way outside for a few night shots. The picture at the end of the Laurel is absolutely one of our favorites. We wish this couple the very best life has to offer and hope you enjoy looking through these pictures.
We can’t wait for our next East Side wedding!
