Some thoughts…
When we got the call for Bianca & Jack’s Whitney winter wedding last fall I remember thinking how fun, a winter wedding the day after Christmas! That is always such a romantic time of year and I love shooting over the holidays. When Bianca started telling me about her vision for her wedding I grew more and more excited about this opportunity.
The Whitney has always been such a special place for me. I have seen some wonderful events here and had some good times myself. The morning of their wedding the forecast for snow was eminent. I envisioned some fabulous opportunities for shots, little did I know just how much fun it was really going to be!
The Service…
After the wedding ceremony officiated by a dear friend in the business, Denise Tucker from Perfect Day Celebrations, Jack surprised Bianca with a limo ride downtown in the snow. We jumped out at Campus Martius and started to work on some shots downtown. All of the sudden we heard this racket over by the ice skating rink. We looked to see a growing crowd of skaters pressed up to the boards cheering for the bride and groom. They had seen them and rushed over to share in the joy of the moment.
Back to the party…
We jumped back in the limo and headed back to the Whitney for the couples first dance and a few more family photos, but what was stunning to me was when we went back out after dark and took a few shots in front of the mansion by the gates. I love these shots and had such a great time with them, it is truly a unique couple that will brave that kind of weather to get shots like these.
