Fine Art Wedding Album Design.

This is the album design for Andrea and Lester’s wedding at the Whitney in Detroit MI. It was an absolutely gorgeous event. The couple was so interesting to be around and work with! They had gone to the Savannah College of Art and Design which I know very well. It’s an amazing School with a fine educational program.

Their friends were excellent to talk with! It’s fun when I go to a wedding and find interesting people to be around. They were involved in what I was doing and asking questions and bouncing ideas around. It was an absolute joy to be around fellow creative spirits. I emphasize that because this whole process of capturing a wedding is rooted in the creative side of our brains. To find a room full of creative people is incredibly special for me.

This is a wedding album design where key images from the day are selected to make this wedding album unique. Every customer gets to pick their own images from the collection and highlight the day as they want to remember it in a beautifully bound book.

Overview of the day.

We started out at the Whitney for a few getting ready pictures but the main goal was to get on the road and head up to the DIA and the Detroit Library. These are two beautiful spaces very close to the Whitney and provide an additional backdrop for some gorgeous pictures. I think we spent about 30 or 40 minutes there and then headed back to the Whitney.

The service was held in the garden area on the south side of the home. The officiant is a good friend of mine, Denise Tucker from Perfect Day Celebrations. She’s a wonderful officiant with a great eye and ear for life. I say that because she listens to people and when she performs a service for a couple, she seems to have a deep understanding of who they are and why they’re getting married. She does a fantastic job with her services and I really enjoy listening to her.

After the service, we took a few family photos on the front steps of the Whitney.  We also organized some groups on the main staircase. This is such a beautiful old home with a great history and a wonderful staff. A fabulous dinner was enjoying by all.

After dinner we gathered on the first floor for the couples first dance in front of the fireplace. They had the entire restaurant to themselves for this event. Later in the evening we went outside for a couple of night shots that were particularly stunning on this day.

Looking Forward…
