Some Thoughts…
We had the privilege of photographing two very special people’s wedding this past weekend at the War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms. John Day (Allison’s father) approached us last fall and was considering us to photograph his daughter’s wedding. When he told us that both the bride and groom were in the Marines we got pretty excited to be a part of this special event. The honor guard was so on point and looked great! Allison’s dress was stunning and she looked stunning in it.
Getting Ready photos…
When we first got to the Atheneum Hotel in Greektown, we thought we were going to just get shots of the groom’s men and the bride’s maids separately but someone called an audible and plans changed on a dime and they decided to have their first look in the lobby of the hotel. This gave us great opportunity to get some fabulous shots of the two of them together in that space.
Out and about…
We then took off for a quick stop off at the Grosse Pointe High School for a couple of shots in front then met up at the War Memorial for the family photos before the wedding. Great move. Though it was really hot, do you think that bothered a couple of Marines? The bridal party looked great and had a lot of fun.
The Party…
The band Sun Messengers kicked off the party and the guests were in for a great night of dancing. All the best to you two, we had a great time at your wedding and loved working with you and your families. Thanks to you for your service to our country and it’s citizens, you put your lives on the line for us and we are grateful to you in so many ways.
We can’t wait for our next Grosse Pointe War Memorial wedding!
